Jona is a filmmaker, student of directing and an enthusiastic storyteller.
Especially stories that are close to reality interest and excite him.
At the age of 15/16, he is already developing his first feature-length film about his unforgettable six-month journey on a traditional sailing ship: "My Big Journey" (2018) is 116 min long and is available on Amazon Prime.
His first fictional film "Verzeih mir, Vater" (2020), a GDR drama, financed by crowdfunding wins several awards (including the German Youth Film Award, Winner Bundesfestival Junger Film 2021 (Newcomer Competition) as well as "Macon Film Festival" in the USA) and is nominated for national as well as international festivals.
The first narrative project is followed by further short films as well as several social and spec commercials (for e.g. the international "World Cleanup Day" 2021).
Since September 2021 Jona is studying directing fictional films at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
His first short film "Forgive Me, Father" won the 2021 German Youth Film Award as well as the Newcomer Prize at the Federal Festival of Young Film and was also featured at the LA Shorts International Film Festival.
The short film "Allein" is also be awarded this prize in 2022.
Since September 2021, Jona has been studying directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
He’s based in Munich, Germany.
